Chapter 5 Let’s Break Up
Eliza, looking pitiful, clung to the blanket in front of her chest with a soft demeanor. ” Edie…”
“Don’t call me with that tone; we aren’t close,” Edie cut Eliza off. She added, “I haven’t officially broken up with Sebastian yet, or are you eagerly rushing to be the other woman? Do I need to go online and publicly announce your relationship for you and Sebastian, so you can be together with a clear conscience?”
Sebastian’s face turned cold. “Edie, that’s enough!”
Edie saved the video recording. “What are you talking about? Wasn’t it you who messaged me yesterday to have a talk?”
Sebastian stared in shock. “I sent you a message?”
He would never have arranged to meet Edie on the day Eliza came to see him.
His phone, aside from Ebenezer, only Eliza could touch. Suddenly, he understood what had happened, but now was clearly not the time to pursue this matter.
Sebastian took a deep breath in anger. “Leave first, we’ll talk later.”
Edie considerately said, “Alright, you just ended; I’ll give you five minutes to savor the feeling after the climax. That’s enough, right?”
Sebastian gritted his teeth hard, unwilling to say more. “Yes, it’s enough. Wait for me outside!”
Edie turned to leave, not forgetting to politely close the door behind her.
Sebastian put on his clothes, suppressing his anger as he walked out.
Edie had always been a good girl in front of him. He liked that Edie was so understanding, and he also enjoyed her appearance. Even more, he reveled in the way that after they became boyfriend and girlfriend, Edie obeyed his every word.
However, he felt that Edie had gone too far this time.
He found Edie sitting outside and said to her, “Delete the video you just took.”
Edie was unwilling. “No way. Hot guy and pretty girl, such a delight to watch, worth at least 30 thousand dollars if it were to make a movie.”
Seeing she would not budge, Sebastian tried a softer approach. “I’ve always seen her as a sister, and she’s different from you. You’ve had it easy with fine clothes and food, but she’s suffered a lot. You know she saved me…”
Edie pretended to be surprised. “So you repay her with sex?”
Caught red–handed, Sebastian found it hard to speak. “In our line of work, it’s tough. Eliza is willing to persuade her parents to invest in my movie…”
Edie gave him a cold look. “I have a cleanliness fetish; I don’t like dirty things.”

Edie was utterly disappointed with Sebastian. ‘Our relationship couldn’t even compare to a moment of joy. He even abandoned me for Eliza.‘
Sebastian continued, “Edie, humans are emotional beings; how can we not make mistakes? My friends all know you’re my girlfriend, and I never thought of breaking up with you.”
Edie asked, “Not breaking up and then having me marry another man? Sebastian, do you enjoy being a cuckold?”
Sebastian’s expression changed several times at Edie’s words. He said earnestly, “Carl is a vegetable; he won’t really do anything to you. Later, when he wakes up, he’ll definitely divorce you. Even if he doesn’t wake up, if the attempt to bring good luck doesn’t work out, the Brooks family won’t keep you. We can still be like before.”
He felt this was the first time he had ever talked to someone so humbly. ‘Edie likes me so much; she must soften.‘
But Edie just said, “To get it straight, Carl is rich and powerful, a vegetable won’t cheat on me. Why would I agree to a divorce?”
This statement stunned Sebastian, leaving him at a loss for words for quite some time. ‘She won’t divorce him? Is she deliberately trying to anger me?‘
He knew Edie would have complaints about this matter, and he would properly compensate her.
Seeing Edie’s composed demeanor as if she really wanted to part ways, Sebastian suddenly felt anxious. “Edie, this is just a temporary measure. You don’t have to sacrifice your whole life.”
Edie gave a cold laugh. “The one who pushed me into the Brooks family mess is you.”
She thought inwardly, ‘What right does he have to say this? Didn’t he help push this engagement along?‘
Sebastian thought she was just speaking out of anger. “I know you’re with him out of necessity; I don’t mind that…”
“You and Eliza ended up in bed out of necessity; why can’t I get married for real?” Edie smiled. “Since I’m married, let’s end it here. Whether you and Eliza play brother–sister or father–daughter games has nothing to do with me.”
After that, Edie stood up, her every move exuding adult dignity. “Mr. Vasquez, consider it as me misjudging you. Let’s part ways on good terms. I wish you all the best in your future endeavors.”
Even if Edie had known early on that she and Sebastian had no future, she never expected Sebastian to persuade her to marry Carl for Eliza’s sake.
Over a year of affection, all for naught.
Edie’s decisive breakup left Sebastian so stunned that he forgot to ask her to delete

the video.
By the time he came to his senses, Edie was already gone.
He was left with nowhere to vent his anger and kicked the trash can hard. “Damn!”
It was unclear whether he was angry about the video or Edie’s harsh words just now.
