Edie took out a black card and handed it to the waiter. “Sorry for interrupting everyone‘
s drinking. I’ll cover tonight’s expenses as an apology.”
As soon as she showed the card, someone recognized it by the pattern on it.
“This card…”
“Isn’t this Mr. Brooks’s black card?”
Eliza could barely keep the expression on her face. “Edie, Mr. Brooks is still in a coma. Using his card like this will make the Brooks family angry.”
Edie responded, “Ms. Lane, you probably don’t know that the post–marriage agreement includes fifty percent of Carl’s property. Even if I max out this card, no one can do anything to me.”
‘Fifty percent of Carl’s property is several times the total assets of the Thornton family!‘ Eliza was stunned.

Since things had already gone this far, Edie decided to enjoy herself even more. Actually, Carl and I are truly in love. Besides, I’m his wife now. What’s wrong with using
his card?”
Everyone was stunned and thought she was bragging. ‘She and Carl are in love? Carl has been focused on his career for so many years, controlling the economic lifeline of Clerlun, with no scandalous news, and probably hasn’t even heard her name.‘
Sebastian widened his eyes. “What are you talking about? You hadn’t even met him before you got married.“.
“Only you can cheat on me, but I can’t cheat on you?” Edie said earnestly, trying to provoke Sebastian. “I’ve always liked Carl. The reason I agreed to go out with you was just to make him jealous. If you don’t believe me, go ask Carl.”
Sebastian retorted. “He’s in a coma! How could he possibly speak?”
Edie calmly said, “Yeah, you’re taking advantage of him being in a coma to bully me. When he wakes up and finds out about this, you’ll be in trouble.”
Sebastian and Eliza obviously did not believe her story and knew she was making it up, but the other people in the private room were not clear about the situation.
Hearing Edie speak with such confidence, they actually found it somewhat believable. After all, Edie was indeed holding Carl’s black card, which he never showed to others.
Although Edie’s fake heiress status was mocked by others, if Carl really liked her, her status could be elevated.
Finally, someone hesitantly stood up to mediate. “Come on, Sebastian. It’s not a big deal.”
“Right, they’ve compensated us. It’s not a big issue…”

After paying with the card, Edie waved it in the air. “I’m taking her with me. Have fun, everyone.”
Eliza was so mad she could hardly breathe. Sebastian was beaten up; they couldn’t have fun.
As soon as Edie left, Eliza could not hold it in any longer. “Sebastian, look at them…”
“It’s all your fault for causing such a mess.” Sebastian angrily interrupted Eliza. “I didn’t confront you about the message, but that doesn’t mean I’ve forgotten.”
He had had an affair, and now he was set up. No man could tolerate that.
Eliza bit her lower lip. “What’s wrong with you clarifying things with her? She’s already agreed to marry in my place. There’s no possibility between you two anymore.”
Sebastian snarled. “Mr. Brooks will divorce her sooner or later. You promised me it would just be a marriage for change of luck and there wouldn’t be any problems. I felt sorry for you after all the hardships you’ve gone through outside, so I asked Edie to marry in your place. And this is how you repay me?”
It was very clear that Sebastian was still unwilling to break up with Edie completely. He was still angry about it.
Eliza clenched her fists. ‘You want to string along Edie and also sleep with me? Dream
on!‘
