Chapter 16 Beating Up Her Ex
Edie pulled Prunella back and tried to calm her down. “Calm down,” she said. Prunella exclaimed, “What? You’re stopping me? Are you still holding onto the past?”
“No.” Edie leaned back into the booth, sipping on a cocktail. Her features were tinged with ambiguous light, and she said in a slow, seductive tone, “I have a video of him flirting with Eliza. If you ruin him, how will I have my fun?”
Prunella quietly put away her phone and sincerely said, “I’ve seen many angels, but a devil like you is a first.”
If the video of a movie star and his mistress flirting got out, it would definitely crash the trending searches.
Prunella asked, “Your husband is still in a coma. Why not take this opportunity to have some fun with a few male models before your marriage is public knowledge?”
Edie thought of Carl. ‘With his looks and physique, he is sure to become a top escort if he enters showbiz.‘
She casually replied, “No one is hotter than Carl. What’s the point of spending money on someone else?”
Prunella fell silent for a moment. She had to admit, Edie was right.
As a single noblewoman, Prunella was known for her wild ways, often entertaining herself with hot male escorts over drinks.
After drinking for a while and feeling the alcohol, she randomly called over one of the male models to support her. “I’m going to the restroom.”
Edie responded with a sound of acknowledgment.
In just a few minutes, the male modél returned, staggering by himself, his face filled with terror. He stuttered to Edie, “Oh no! Ms. Byrd hit someone.”
Edie asked, “Who did she hit?”
The male model still looked terrified. “Se–Sebastian…”
Sebastian was popular; almost all young people knew him.
Prunella was also someone the male model couldn’t afford to mess with. With these
two heavyweights in action, he had no choice but to rush back to Edie in a panic.
The male model thought that Edie would definitely go to break up the fight, but to his surprise, Edie just laughed and said, “Good job.”
‘You’re really someone who isn’t afraid of making things worse, the male model thought helplessly.
He was so anxious that he was practically shaking in his boots.
Meanwhile, Edie strolled casually and calmly toward the scene. By the time she

reached Sebastian’s private room, the fight had already broken out between Sebastian and Prunella, and they were being pulled apart.
Sebastian looked disheveled, with alcohol splattered all over him and a palm print on his face, probably all thanks to Prunella.
His face turned ashen, and a friend of his tried to calm him down, saying, “Come on, this is the heiress of the Byrd family. Don’t do anything rash.”
The Byrd family was one of the four major influential families in Clerlun, with the Brooks family being at the top of the list.
The culprit, Prunella, looked refreshed and immaculate, and her expensive hairstyle didn’t even mess up a bit.
Eliza stepped in front of Sebastian, wiping the dirt off his face with a tissue, and angrily yelled at Prunella, “Do you even know who you just hit?”
“Sebastian, of course. I was hitting him,” Prunella said. “He didn’t even make a sound when I hit him. Why are you so eager to come out and bark? And who are you?”
Tears welled up in Eliza’s eyes as she said, “Sebastian, look at what she did!”
Prunella took a leisurely breath and smirked. “He cheated on my sis. I’m just standing up for justice. Why are you in such a hurry? Could it be that you’re the other woman?”
– Prunella eyed Eliza up and down, scoffing at her outfit. “Your dressing seems to be
trying to put big brand logos everywhere on your body. What poor taste! No wonder you love other people’s boyfriends.”
Eliza was furious. “You…”
Sebastian felt more embarrassed than ever. He pulled Eliza behind him and growled through his teeth. “Ms. Byrd, that’s enough. Edie and I broke up peacefully.”
Prunella mocked Eliza while scolding Sebastian, “You broke up peacefully? Cut the crap! You sent your girlfriend to be a substitute bride for the sake of getting with a mistress, and you call that a peaceful breakup? You’ve got some nerve. You’re really shameless.”
Eliza subconsciously blurted out, “I and Sebastian…”
Sebastian directly interrupted her, “We’re just friends.”
Prunella retorted. “Friends can just sleep together? You have so many friends in this private room; does that mean you have a relationship with all of them?”
Edie, seeing that Prunella had vented enough, finally stepped forward.
She said, “I’m sorry; my friend is a bit drunk. I’m sure you won’t mind a drunk person, right?”
Eliza exclaimed, “Sebastian has been beaten up so badly; are you just going to say it’s because she’s drunk?”

Edie looked at her and said, “What else then? Shall we let Sebastian hit back? Do you believe I can make the headline ‘Sebastian beats a woman‘ trend tomorrow?”
