Chapter 10 

“Now Ms. Raines, your grades are excellent which is why I granted you permission to have a Job. I know growing up in an orphanage wasn’t easy, that is why you need financial stability and that wasn’t a problem. Umm. I received a call earlier today from Mrs. Sterling and your Scholarship has been revoked effective immediately“? he said 

I was shocked. What the hell. 

“Mr. Giddens, why?. My grades are perfect, and I haven’t gotten into any trouble so why”, 

“I honestly don’t know why. But now that the scholarship is gone you will need to pay tuition. I’m extremely sorry about this“, he said with a sigh. 

“it’s okay Mr. Giddens it’s not your fault. I’ll pay the tuition one way or the other“. 

He looked like he was sorry about something. Why would she do this., I have nothing to 

do with the Sterling’s. After he left, I went back to the dorm room and changed. I sat 

there for a minute. I was hesitant but I dialed his number. 

ASHER: yes, Litte bunny. 

SKYLAR: You said if I had a problem to come to you. 

ASHER: What happened? 

SKYLAR: My scholarship was taken away and I don’t know why. Mr. Giddens said Mrs. 

Sterling called and told him. 

ASHER: I’ll handle it 

He ended the call, how would he fix that. I left and headed to work. When I walked in, Ivy was at the door with Daphne and Maya. I walked past them and headed to Darla’s office. I 

knocked and then went in. 

“Hey sweetie, everything good“? she asked 

“No Darla it isn’t “, 

I told her everything about what has been happening with Ivy and what the Dean said.

“What the hell is her problem.“? she asked 

“I don’t know after the phone she was weird but after the car she became cold and 

hostile“. 

“Okay who is sponsoring you“? she asked. 

“Zenith Cooperation“. 

She stood up immediately. “That’s no problem. Dorian is due here in a few hours. I’ll explain to him for you“, she said 

“Oh, thank you Darla you’re a life saver“, 

“You’re a good kid, it’ll work out“, she said patting my hands. 

I left her office and headed to work. It was busy tonight, four of the Private rooms were occupied and that kept me on my toes. Ivy was working with me in one of the private rooms. The idiot was here again. To me he was an idiot powerful or not he was still am idiot to me. As they were about to leave Darla walked in. 

“Ivy why don’t you leave“, she said, so I decided to leave also. 

“Not you Skylar, Just Ivy. We have something to discuss with Mr. Sterling“,, Daula said. I guess that pissed Ivy off because she walked out slamming the door. 

“What is it, Darla? I’m a busy man“. He said uninterestedly 

“She is the recipient of the Zenith Scholarship. She is a damn good server and student. Now I’m not sure what happened but earlier the college head received a call from Mrs. Sterling and her scholarship has been Revoked“. She said, looking at him. I guess they 

knew each other well enough for them to speak to each other like that. 

“I see. No one has any right to take away anyone’s scholarship. Who did you say call 

him“? be asked me 

“He said Mrs. Sterling“, I said 

“I’ll handle it“? he said softly, handing me the check book and walking out. I looked at 

Darla.

“It’s done“, she said smiling. She took the checkbook out of my hand. She opened it and handed me three thousand.

“Three for you and one for the crazy wench. Just say you got a thousand too. You need it more than she does“, she said 

“Okay“, 

I began clearing the table. Normally when the idiot speaks to me, he’s usually cold and Rude but he didn’t sound that way. He probably felt bad that I got hurt because of him. I put it out of my mind and continued clearing the table. Ivy walked in and came to me pushing me over, causing me to fall backwards with the tray of empty dishes. I sat there looking at her. 

“I got you this fucking job the least you could do is be grateful you little bitch“, she said. 

I stood up and looked at her. “What did I do now“?
