Chapter 19
Lines of bold text popped up across every computer screen in the Damien Grows
[Today’s events are just a warning. If you dare bully that girl again, I’ll come for you Mr. Damien, act whely)
The entire office? Pure chaos,
“W–What the hell?!”
“Was this… a targeted hack? Someone actually broke into our system?!”
“Did they just say the boss bullied a girl?!”
“Who the hell has the guts… and the skills… to pull this off?!”
In the president’s office, Damien stared at his own monitor, jaw tight, face dark as a storm. His entire body radiated fury.
Nico stood off to the side, pale and stiff as a board, sensing an incoming explosion.
He swallowed hard and tried to calm him. “Boss, th–this must be some kind of prank, right? I mean, saying you bullied some girl? That’s ridiculous! Everyone knows your character, you would never…”
“Where’s that woman from yesterday?” Damien ‘s voice was icy,
It took Nico a second to react. “You mean… Willow? We still haven’t located her.”
Damien slammed his palm on the desk. “Useless!”
The entire building shook.
Nico felt the temperature in the room drop ten degrees. Working for the devil himself might be easier than this…
Damien ‘s eyes were still fixed on the message on the screen.
His instincts screamed that the “girl” being mentioned… was Willow.
He wasn’t a saint, and he’d never claimed to be one. But bullying women? That wasn’t his style. In fact, other than his obsession with finding Rick’s birth mother, he barely interacted with women at all.
And yet… he’d detained Willow yesterday. Locked her up, no explanation, no apology.
And now this?

Chapter 19
The Damien Group’s elite team of hackers had lost… twice. Once when their business deals got hijacked overnight, and now, when their entire system had been compromised with ease.
The ones who’d stolen his deals couldn’t be traced.
Willow couldn’t be found.
Damien’s expression was grim. He was starting to suspect one very chilling possibility…
These weren’t separate incidents,
They were connected.
And someone had just declared war.
Damien clenched his back teeth, his voice like an arctic wind.
“Dig three feet into the ground if you have to… I want her found.”
“Yes, sir!”
Nico bolted from the office like his life depended on it. Honestly, he’d rather face a firing squad than linger another second in that storm cloud of a room.
But before he could even finish relaying Damien ‘s orders, his phone buzzed again.
Bad news.
“Boss,” the voice on the other end said, “your wife is back. She’s at the gates of Dreamland Hall asking to see you. Says she wants a divorce.”
Dreamland Hall… that was the place Damien bought years ago for his wife, the mansion meant to be their marital
home.
Nico froze for a second. “You’re sure it’s her?”
“No one would dare lie to your boss like that. It’s definitely her.”
With that, Nico had no choice. He braced himself and headed back into the lion’s den.
“Sir, your wife’s returned. She’s waiting for you at.”
Damien looked up. “Who?”
“Your wife. Legally, I mean. The one you married on paper.”
Damien took a moment to remember that, yes, technically, he was still married. He’d never even met the woman in

person.
“What does she want?”
“She’s asking for a divorce.”
Damien ‘s eyes narrowed. The so–called unfaithful woman who’d vanished for six years and now the suddenly
wanted out?
He wasn’t fond of her, true. But if they divorced now, how would he explain it to Nancy? He needed the marriage as
a shield.
“Tell her I’m on a business trip. I’m not available to divorce right now. She’ll have to wait. Indefinitely.”
If she were a decent woman, he might’ve felt guilty. But she wasn’t. Using her to fend off Nancy didn’t weigh on his conscience one bit.
Nico, who had worked under Damien for years, wasn’t surprised in the slightest. “She may not believe a verbal excuse. Should I set up a video call so you can tell her directly?”
“No need.” Damien ‘s voice was cold. “She’s irrelevant.”
What he didn’t realize was that the “irrelevant” wife he refused to see was the very woman he’d ordered his people to dig out from the ends of the earth.
“One more thing,” Damien added sharply. “Stop calling her my wife. I only have one. And no one else is worthy of that title.”
Nico nodded solemnly. He knew exactly who Damien meant… Rick’s mother.
Meanwhile, Willow stood stunned at the gates of Dreamland Hall.
What did he mean… he was away indefinitely?
If she couldn’t get the divorce, she couldn’t leave the city. Couldn’t register the kids. Couldn’t even get them into
school.
She called him several times but got no response. Finally, shoulders heavy with disappointment, she walked away from the estate.
Now what? Her savings were running low. She couldn’t job–hunt without knowing when she’d leave.
And then there was that man… the one who looked uncannily like Brad and Mac, The one demanding fifty million.
The pressure closed in from all sides. Her head pounded. She walked aimlessly until she found shade under a large tree and sat down, trying to calm her nerves before going home to the boys.

A dald, maybe four or five, suddenly dented out across a busy street, right into traffic.
The wir filled with the sound of screwing tires, baring horns, curses and screams.
Amands father, probably rushed efter kúr, but the child thrashed violently, fighting him off like a feral animal.
He screamed at the men. At the people nearby. Then, without warning, he began punching a parked car, hard.
Next, he turned on himself hitting his own face, scratching, slapping, sobbing
When his father tried to hold him again, the boy bit and kicked, letting out guttural cries that made people around
flinch
Willow sprang to her feet. She could tell something was seriously wrong.
By the time she reached them, the child had broken free. His father, red–faced and enraged, raised his hand as if to
strike.
Willow stepped between them, voice firm but gentle. “Please, calm down. Don’t hit him.”
She looked at the boy and slowly crouched down, lowering herself to his eye level. Stretching out her arms, Willow spoke with a soft, gentle tone,
“Don’t be scared, sweetheart. Come here. Let me hold you I’ll protect you.”
The child eyed her warily, his small body tense like a startled animal ready to bolt.
Willow kept her smile calm and warm. “I won’t hurt you, I promise. It’s okay… come on over.”
He stared at her for a few seconds… then suddenly bent down, picked up a rock from the ground, and hurled it straight at her.
She didn’t dodge fast enough. The rock hit her square in the forehead, and the sharp pain made her suck in a breath through clenched teeth.
His mother gasped, guilt flooding her expression. Tears welled up as she rushed forward.
“I’m so sorry, miss… he… he has bipolar disorder. He’s having an episode. We don’t know what to do anymore…
Willow wiped at the corner of her eye and shook her head, wincing but calm.
“It’s okay, I understand. What’s his name?”
“Watson Blake… we call him Willy”

Willow nodded gently. “You startled him. Step back, both of you. Let me try talking to him alone.”
Mr. and Mrs. Blake stood there, stunned by her calmness in the face of chaos. But in the end, they moved aside.
They had no other choice. Nothing else had worked.
