When we reach the lobby, Aria paces briskly and I only get the chance to say one word.
“Congratulations.”
Aria’s abrupt departure catches me off guard, leaving me standing there, momentarily stunned. Instead of responding, she simply glances over her shoulder before turning away and briskly walking out of the building to
her car.
With a sudden surge of speed, she drives off, leaving me rooted to the spot, a mixture of confusion and concern. swirling within me.
