ADAM’S POV
+25 BONUS
George has been urging me to go out for a drink with him and the other boys, even though I’m not in the mood at all. My thoughts are consumed with Sophia and Aria, and I can’t stop thinking about Nathan Wilson, who, I believe at this time, must be doing his best to court Aria.
Thinking about both of them, makes my blood boil. Then, that effin nightmare of the other day, with Aria and my uncle in a lovemaking scene had to add to my already perturbed mind for some days now.
As a matter of fact, George, practically forced me to come here, dragging me to a place I have absolutely no desire to be.
“Chill, Adam! Who knows, you might get lucky with one of those hot chicks staring at you, over there.”
These supposedly attractive girls which George is referring to are not what I need. All I crave is Aría.
“Not interested!”
My mood is already sour, and George has been getting on my nerves, oblivious to what I’ve been through. If I were to reveal the truth about Sophia, perhaps he’d even start doubting his own girlfriend and tell me that women can’t be trusted.
I had to excuse myself to go to the restroom to wash my face and be away from George for some time. Suddenly, as I emerge from the restroom, I hear what seems to be Aria’s voice. I wonder if I’m missing her so much that her voice is echoing in my mind. However, as I turn to see my Aria boxing all these men, and I’m baffled. I never knew she was skilled at boxing. She’s holding her own until one of the men charges at her with a knife. Without hesitation, I rush to save her.
Everything was okay despite the pain and the wounds, until George had to interfere and insult Aria. Fortunately, this time, I shut him up in no time.
“Adam, please stay calm. I’ll take you to the hospital.”
Aria’s soothing and concerned voice brings a sense of calm to my racing heart. As George, Stella, and Aria rush to my aid, their presence reassures me that I’m not alone in this ordeal. With Aria’s gentle touch around my waist, I feel a wave of gratitude wash over me, thankful for her unwavering support in my time of need.
Consequently, we arrive at the hospital, where the nurse attends to my injuries. I require some stitches along with dressing for the wounds.Once we’re settled down, Aria expresses her gratitude, thanking me for saving her life. I know that I’ve never joked with her the entire time I’ve known her and suddenly, I feel to tease her.
“If you want to thank me then you should remarry me.”
Aria’s eyes widen in astonishment, and for a moment, I catch a glimpse of hesitation and sorrow flickering within them. After a moment of silence, she finally responds.
“I can give you any project you desire for the benefit of your company.”
She thinks I need projects? While I’ve always been ambitious, my drive stemmed from taking care of my sister and mother, ensuring they never felt lacking in support. They had a penchant for spending, which nearly led me to bankruptcy at one point, until Uncle Regis came to my rescue.
Such struggles and hardships were always kept hidden from women. I never shared my burdens wi.. yone, not even Sophia.
“You got me wrong Aria. I don’t need anything in return. Your safety is the reward for me.”

CHAPTER 115

Wow! Years ago, I never imagined I’d be so romantic with Aria. Yet here I am, turning into a poet for her. Nevertheless, it’s too late now. I watch as Aria reaches for her phone, dialing her assistant Mario without hesitation.
“Mario, please prepare the contract with the Spanos Group of Companies and include Miller Corporation as our partner.”
My heart fractures into countless shards under the weight of her demeanor. It’s a great realization that she refuses to owe me anything, not even the gift of her life, and her actions pierce me with a profound sense of rejection and loss.
Thankfully, I was there to save her. If something had happened to her, I would have lost her forever, and the thought of that fills me with even greater sorrow.
